We employ over 1100 people in 27 countries and have sales offices in 113 countries. Our Chesterton (Ningbo) Sealing Technology Co. Ltd specializes in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals and packing and employs approximately 38 employees across production, sales, customer service, finance, quality control, logistics and engineering divisions. We invite suitable candidates to apply for the new position of Country Manager China. About the Role The Country Manager China will be responsible for the daily sales and operations of the Ningbo business and will manage and provide direction to the China Sales & Customer Service Team, Operations Manager and Finance Manager. The position will provide exceptional strategic management to drive sales growth in China for all channels, (Retail, Wholesale, OEM and Key Accounts) and all product lines. Key Responsibilities • Supervises the Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Sales Manager and other staff. The Operations and Finance roles are globally matrixed and have dotted line reports into the global functional heads in Groveland, MA, USA. • Achieves growth and sales targets by successfully managing all in-country operations. • Actively manages the P&L for China. • Manage operational costs against budgets and targets as set by the Managing Director Asia Pacific. • Develops goals for production targets, quality and delivery and directs and supports the in country Operation Manager in their effective execution. • Drives business growth and strategies to meet these goals ensuring budgets, expenses and costs are controlled and effectively managed. • Drives regional, corporate account business strategies and new product introductions. • Manage territory coverage in strategic and tactical account planning to ensure sales and market share growth. • Coordinates recruiting and owns objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of distributors and specialists. • Ensure that assigned Distributors maintain appropriate inventory levels or logistic/supply chain organization to provide the appropriate service to the market. • Build and promote strong, long-lasting distribution relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. Key Experience & Qualifications • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in industrial sales and operations leadership • Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L • Must have relevant technical industry experience that could include refineries, pumps and compressors, marine applications, water, wastewater and mining • Previous experience of leadship and managing diverse teams. • University Degree qualification or equivalent, • Deep understanding of China’s unique business culture, market, traditions and business etiquette and ability to use this to develop and maintain effective trusted relationships. • Candidates must have current and permanent legal eligibility to live and work in China Key Skills • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to define and execute strategy. • Solid interpersonal and selling skills, and consistency in meeting objectives and intermediate targets. • Must have or be capable of developing strong technical knowledge of Chesterton products. • Verbal and written fluency in both Mandarin and English. • Proficient IT skills including the use of Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Power Point and Excel • Willing and able to travel extensively (approximately 50%) within the region (by land or air) and internationally. • Exceptional networking skills with the ability to leverage relationships critical for business success in China. • Strong customer service and solution-oriented skills. • High level of accuracy and able to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to meet business demands while working under pressure and rapidly changing priorities.
