- Position Description: DNV-Area North China is part of the Maritime Region Greater China and consists of more than 110 employees in 5 major locations. Services delivered are related to ship classification of vessels and offshore units as well as certification of material and components. DNV-Area North China is currently seeking to employ the next generation talent who would like to pursue a career in the leading Classification Society. As a Surveyor you will become team member of Station Dalian NB & CMC but may be assigned to support other DNV units for a period of time, depending on current needs. The successful candidates will be employed as Surveyors performing tasks including, but not limited to: • surveys on ships/mobile offshore units • inspection or certification of materials and components • project management of ships or MOU new buildings Further responsibilities: • Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines and quality requirements of DNV • Maintain the confidentiality of clients' business, processes, designs, developments and documentation • Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation and integrity of DNV Position Qualifications: • University degree (BSc or higher) on Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering • Young professionals with 3 to 5 years of experience in the maritime industry, preferably in design office, shipyard or technical superintendent • IACS class surveyor is preferred. • Team player but able to work independently on surveys. • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, e.g. Climbing ship side pilot ladders & in/out of tanks and confined spaces • Good communication skills and fluent in English (speaking and writing) DNV Maritime DNV is the independent expert in risk management and assurance, with almost 12,000 employees operating in more than 100 countries.
