- Position Summary Provide MVD Commercial support to Regional BU Team/Sales Team and Product management support globally Key Responsibilities • Provide technical, commercial and engineering leadership in MVD application engineering to enable customer success. This includes sales engagement, application expertise and post sales issue resolution. Provide technical support and advice to Sales team, SI's, OEMs and end user customers in the design of complex system solutions (application engineering). • Assist in pre-sales activities by assisting the sales channel develop, maintain and support relationships that exceed customer expectations for responsiveness, support and product quality. • Develop relationships and work closely with various internal groups including Rockwell Automaton Sales, local sales support groups, RA Harbin teams and the global Commercial Engineering organization. • Build up competency of the Internal Rockwell Sales personnel and Channel partners. • Provide training for sales and post sales team. • Helps with preparation of on-going competitive analysis and regularly communicates relevant information throughout the organization. • Assists in defining specifications with price, cost and reliability objectives for product development projects. • Applies market, customer, industry, application and technical knowledge to assist in preparing Customer Requirement Document (CRD) and Product Requirement Document (PRD) for product development projects (new, line extensions, enhancements and cost reductions). • Responsible for assisting the Product Manager and/or Senior Product Marketing Specialist as assigned in duties required to meet global business unit and department objectives. • Invests time to expand knowledge of global industry trends, customer issues, competition, etc.; approaches problem solving with a global perspective. • Helps establish and maintain market-based product pricing within the overall business unit strategic objectives. • Helps establish product gross margin objectives and lead the organization to maximize same. • Helps establish product forecasting and communicate to operations in a timely fashion. • Partners with internal/external customers and coordinates through others to: resolve complex problems with broad and long-term implications; and respond with urgency to unique needs and deliver timely, cost-effective quality solutions. • Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS Functional • Be able to function with a large degree of autonomy and professionalism. • A broad understanding of quality standards and processes. • An understanding of the need to protect confidential information. • Supports Commercial Marketing organization in the development and implementation of key programs in support of product objectives (e.g. trade shows, promotion programs, pre-sales and post sales collateral, target account programs, etc.) • Coordinates activities with other Product Management team members to achieve consistency of product usability, customer service, product look/feel, quality and system integrity. • Actively supports new Rockwell Automation and business unit programs; helps team members and key stakeholders understand the business context for change. • Articulates to others how work performed impacts customer, business unit and Rockwell Automation success. Interpersonal • An understanding of how to build and maintain customer satisfaction. • Strong listening and communication skills, fluent in English. • Develops effective working relationships across Rockwell Automation. • Helps develop and leverage effective working relationships across the business unit and Rockwell Automation on a global basis to achieve established product objectives. • Is an effective and timely global communicator; keeps team members and key stakeholders well informed of product issues/direction. Must also develop knowledge of customer requirements and competitors offerings. • Applies metrics to measure and ensure business value of process improvement initiatives; takes responsibility for own development and performance; seeks/facilitates continuous improvement through development planning and performance feedback. • Generates and implements innovative ideas and recommendations; encourages and supports innovative and diverse thinking, continuous improvement and fact-based risk taking in others. Leadership • Ability to resolve conflict, negotiate and persuade • An ability to get things done and a dedication to following through on commitments. • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures. • Adapts to change by identifying needs, adjusting, and working with others as appropriate to implement initiatives. • Normally is self-directed and must be capable of making project decisions with minimal input. • Works with others to achieve strategic and tactical objectives for the assigned product line. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE • Engineering Degree in Electrical or Electronics or Industrial Automation or equivalent relevant experience. Master Degree would be a plus • Excellent English Capability in both oral and writing • Formal Business qualifications would be well regarded. • Strong Global/Regional Commercial Sense and Marketing acknowledge • Knowledge and experience with Drives, Industrial Networks, PLC, HMI. • 5+ years of relevant experience. KEY INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS • Business units/segments, including Product R&D, Engineering, Quality team, Marketing team, etc. • Manufacturing plants.
