Affordable innovation—bring meaningful therapeutics to patients with enhanced accessibility is the mission of Shanghai Henlius biotech. The company is focusing on discovery, development and commercialization of antibody drugs to treat chronic and life-threatening disease.
The Director, Search and Evaluation will drive the identification and evaluation of external innovation in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic arenas with a focus IO but also expanding to other immune disease areas when needed. The scope includes everything from accessing targets and biomedically relevant biology to the in-licensing of innovative drug candidates before or after clinical proof of concept, cutting edge technologies and platforms, and potential M&A targets.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to：
Identify high-impact external scientific innovation
-Develop company in-licensing strategy and identify searching priorities to be aligned with Henlius company strategy to best advance Henlius pipeline and achieve long term business growth.
-Facilitate scientific evaluations by leading or supporting cross-functional and cross-divisional teams that include representation from multiple functional areas, including research, development, manufacturing, safety, regulatory, commercial, legal, patents and finance.
-Together with the above functional team, execute initial pre-due diligence assessments and define the business parameters around potential deals.
-Build consensus for deal rationale among above stake holders and Sr. leaders.
-Assist in preparing reports and updates for senior leadership
-Facilitate the negotiation of the deals
-Lead in-licensing group
-PhD required in relevant field: biology, pharmacy, medical (M.B.A. a plus)
-Fluent English and Chinese
-10+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with strong R&D experience
-5-8 years of experience in business development and licensing
-Drug development experience in immunology and oncology is a plus
-Creative thinker with ability to see opportunities where others may not
-Strong influencing skills and talent for building consensus
-Strong leadership skills with ability to drive teams to decisions
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills
-Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
-High level of self-motivation

-Capable of managing projects and deadlines with autonomy
-Domestic and international travel required (estimated 25%)
